A bit of brick making anyone?
The community have wished to have their own two chair, permanent dental clinic for their two new oral health workers – Nelson and Malone who are in training. This building in the Analcauhat Village will serve all Aneityumese as well as any Ni-Vanuatu who wish to travel there from neighbouring islands of Tanna, Erromango, Futuna, Aniwa or perhaps from any of the other 80+ islands in Vanuatu!
This project will be made possible in 2018 using local skills and materials, partnering with Rotary in New Zealand. They already own a building which needs to be refurbished – they know how to do this and will be making their own bricks. All equipment will run from additional solar panels on the roof of the dental clinic which will connect to the health clinic next door. Equipment will be minimal and of high quality to provide best practice.
The clinic will be sustainable and will run totally from solar energy thanks to this being invented in December, 2017 by New Zealand biomedical technician Terry Williams.
